Specialisations announced for Mount Gambier Technical College

Mount Gambier Technical College’s industry training programs have been announced, paving the way for students to start planning for an employment pathway that leads directly to local industries.

The technical college will provide industry training programs in:

  • Agri-tech for careers in forestry, agriculture and manufacturing using the latest technology
  • Early Childhood and Education for careers as Early Childhood workers, educators and teachers
  • Health and Social Support for careers in aged care and into nursing, allied health
  • Multi-trades for careers as plumbers, builders, electricians.

Set to open in 2026, Mount Gambier Technical College will be built on the Education, Training and Research precinct on Wireless Road.

The technical college will support students in years 10, 11 and 12 with access to industry training programs on a part-time basis while staying enrolled in their home school. It will be open to students from across the Limestone Coast region, with short stay accommodation to be available for about 40 students at a time.

The college will support students in years 10 to 12 to complete their SACE while undertaking vocational education and training (VET) in state-of-the-art specialist facilities.
